So, I'm thinking of dropping $40-100 on a video capturing device so I can record and live stream video to the internet for when I am playing games. I've been thinking of turning my YouTube channel into a "Let's Play" channel. It could also help our guild become more recognized once we get into SWTOR. I'm sure if a couple of our other members got involved, we would become one of the most recognized Republic PvP guilds in SWTOR within the first year.
Anyway, I'm not sure what to get. I was thinking of getting this: Roxio Game Capture, but I keep reading everywhere that it isn't very good for live streaming. If I'm going to spend $100 on a piece of hardware that does what free software can do, I want it to be able to live stream in at least 720p without trouble.
Does anybody have any suggestions about what to get? I want the hardware to be able to record/live stream Xbox 360 and PC video (not at the same time, of course) and the absolute minimum quality that I will accept is 720p for live streaming and 1080p for recording. I would love to be able to do 1080p, but I do not think I have an internet connection at my apartment or my house that is capable of live streaming 1080p and playing a game online at the same time.
Now, the hardware itself might not need to have live streaming capability. There is software that I can use to do that if I can just play the video while recording with the device, but I may as well not even get the hardware as my main focus would be PC and that would just make it more complicated than it already is.
I need help deciding what to get. I will not spend more than $110 at max. Suggestions for forums to discuss this on or products to buy would be great. I don't know if any of our members know anything about this, but it would be great if any of you do.
